OET is the Occupational English Test that evaluates the language proficiency of healthcare professionals who wish to work in English-speaking countries.

It covers all four components of the language viz. listening, reading, writing and speaking in an environment where patients are treated and other health-related services are provided.

Since 2013 OET is owned by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment which is a venture between Cambridge English Language Assessment and Box Hill Institute.

OET is also taken as a criterion of acceptability by the governing bodies of the medical professions at state and national levels in Australia, New Zealand & Singapore.

Each board or council determines the result required from candidates to meet the language competency standards in order to function in their particular health care profession Except Listening and Reading sections, OET has separate contents for 12 medical and allied professions namely, doctors, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, occupational therapists, nurses, dieticians, optometrists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, speech pathologists, and radiographers. Its results are awarded in grades where A is the highest and E as the lowest.

Mostly candidates need B grade to get their applications processed without any hitch. In India, Planet Edu conducts the examination in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Mumbai several times in a year and the dates can be checked on the OET website.

Applications close three weeks ahead of the test date so the candidates should submit their applications in time to avoid delays.

Mascot Forum is an institute that has the reputation of hiring outstanding mentors and producing the good number of successful OET aspirants who are now well settled in Australia and New Zealand etc.

Our library is well equipped with rich study material on the specific medical profession to carry out the most effective preparations.

Regular practice tests, one on one attention, focus on grey areas and adapting to formal expressions as expected by the OET examiners is what we don’t leave to chance.

Also, we do batch processing tailored to suit students convenience and preferences without jeopardizing the quality of teaching.

For those who want to study in the comfort of their home, we provide online coaching as well.

OET has its own virtues. If unfortunately, a candidate performs poorly in a particular section, he can repeat only that section without paying any fee for the sections he has already scored a good grade.

As OET is a specific profession based test, it deals with terms and topics related to your medical profession. This gives an edge and a lot of confidence to students and they can pass the test in their stride.
